Cultural Center hosts the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia
As part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the bridges of cultural and diplomatic communication between Iraq and the countries of the world, the Cultural Center for Dialogue and Democracy in Najaf was hosted this morning by the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in Baghdad and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting included an in-depth dialogue on a number of issues of concern to the two countries, most notably:
- Cultural and intellectual cooperation: explore the possibility of launching joint programs and initiatives that promote cultural exchange and open the horizons of cooperation between academic and research institutions in Iraq and Armenia.
- Promoting the values of dialogue and coexistence: Emphasizing the role of think tanks in building a society based on democracy and mutual respect, away from extremism and isolation.
- Najaf as a global radiation center: The Armenian ambassador praised the intellectual and spiritual status of the city of Najaf, considering it a key station for dialogue between cultures and religions.
- Prospects for future cooperation: The initial agreement to activate communication and coordination channels to hold joint events, which contribute to the consolidation of bilateral relations between the two peoples.
In his intervention, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia stressed the importance of Iraq as a cultural and civilizational bridge in the region, praising the leading role of the Cultural Forum Center in gathering different visions and ideas under one roof, thus contributing to the promotion of a culture of coexistence and peace.
For his part, Sheikh Mohsen Okla Al-Aboudi, head of the Center, welcomed the visit as an important step in opening the Center to international experiences, stressing that the doors of the Forum of Cultures will remain open to all initiatives that promote democratic dialogue and human understanding.
The visit concluded with an introductory tour in the corridors of the center, during which the ambassador and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the activities of the center and its intellectual and cultural projects, where he expressed admiration for the efforts to consolidate dialogue as a high human value.
This visit is a new station in the register of cultural and diplomatic relations of the Center for the Crossroads of Cultures, and embodies his vision to be a platform for dialogue and communication between peoples, and a gateway to openness to global experiences to serve the present and future of Iraq.
