The session came under the guidance and follow-up of Sheikh Mohsen Okla Al-Aboudi, head of the Center, who stressed the importance of establishing a culture of human rights as a common responsibility starting from the individual and extending to the community and its institutions and the need to enhance human rights awareness to contribute to the protection of human dignity.

The session witnessed the participation of Mr. Firas Al-Dahan, Director of the Office of the High Commission for Human Rights in Najaf Governorate, and Colonel Khalil Al-Husseini, Director of the Human Rights Department in Najaf Governorate, where they presented two lectures on the basic concepts of human rights and the role of official and community institutions in protecting them, in addition to the most prominent challenges facing their application on the ground.

At the end of the session, the door of dialogue and interventions was opened to the attendees, stressing the importance of continuing to hold such meaningful dialogue sessions.

This session is part of a series of activities and dialogues organized by the Cultures for Dialogue and Democracy Center as part of its continuous efforts to spread the culture of dialogue and promote community awareness and support human rights.
