President of the Center for Cultures Encounter for Dialogue and Democracy Hosted

by His Eminence Sheikh Hamam Hamoudi

As part of strengthening ties of communication and exchanging views on national and

cultural issues, Sheikh Mohsin Ukla Al-Aboudi, President of the Center for Cultures

Encounter for Dialogue and Democracy, met with His Eminence Sheikh Hamam Hamoudi,

President of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council. During the meeting, the latest

developments on the Iraqi scene and the challenges facing the democratic process were

discussed, in addition to emphasizing the importance of constructive national dialogue

and consolidating a culture of coexistence and tolerance among the components of

society. Both sides valued the important role of religious and cultural elites in entrenching

societal peace and supporting reform efforts, stressing the necessity of continuous

cooperation and consultation among various active parties in order to serve the nation

and the citizen.
